Just saw this press release from SMTN!

DOVER, NH - The National Timeshare Owners Association, a consumer protection organization of and for timeshare owners, has endorsed the timeshare advertising company, Sell My Times..re NOW. As the largest timeshare owners association in the country, the National Timeshare Owners Association, NTOA, acts in the interest of timeshare owners. Ed Hastry, founder and CEO of NTOA, says, "Our organization's goal is to offer consumers every facet of information they need regarding timeshares. The National Timeshare Owners Association is enthusiastic about recommending Sell My Timeshare NOW.........."

Didn't take Jason long! Since the press releases are coming from Dover- it seems pretty obvious to me who is calling the shots between Hastry and SMTN....

Also a little heavy on the exaggeration, since the NTOA is just starting out and doesn't to my knowledge have any true membership base yet.

Seems a real shame that Shep's organization is getting dragged into this circus....

I used to subscribe TST, but when I asked a question, there response was not much help. I did the opposite and it worked out well for me.

New press release about NTOA seminar.... I applaud the increased transparency...

DOVER, NH -- 04/08/09 -- The co-founder and CEO of timeshare resales advertising leader, Sell My Timeshare NOW, Jason Tremblay, will be speaking April 19, 2009 at the National Timeshare Owners Association Educational Seminar in Baltimore, Maryland. The educational event is designed to give members of the National Timeshare Owners Association straight talk and valuable insights about owning timeshare. NTOA founder and CEO Ed Hastry, emphasizes that this is an educational conference, not a timeshare sales seminar...... Featured along with Jason Tremblay will be Lisa Ann Schreier, author of "Timeshare Vacations for Dummies" and "Surviving a Timeshare Presentation"; Woody Cary, president of Platinum Interchange timeshare exchange company, and Shep Altshuler, publisher of "Timesharing Today, the Independent Voice of Vacation Ownership."

There now seems to be more transparency regarding the speakers that will be attending these conferences. I hope they also plan to disclose Steve Luba's employer as SMTN at the seminars he attends instead of Jason. As long as the attendees are aware upfront that Luba and Tremblay work for a timeshare marketing company, they can't complain later that they were misled by the owner's organization itself if they aren't successful in selling.
