  • Pacifc monarch resorts

I have been recrutied by the Pacific Monarch Resorts, they have timeshares in various states ie Nv, Mexico and are selling vacation packages and points. Have any of you had any dealings with this company? The reason I ask is I want to be certain that I am dealing with a reputable company, one that delivers what it promises to its customers. Any input would be welcome.

Pacific Monarch sells a TS product called Monarch Grand vacations -MGV . They have been around for many years (>12 years) and have lots of happy customers. Personally, I own 3 weeks of vacations managed by MGV.

That said, they do have some problems.
1- They sell only a 24 month product. So when you buy a week worth of points from MGV, you get a week of vacation every 24 months ( not annually like most other TS system)
2- They will sell point packages which are so small that the basically are worthless. They will sell people a 74 pt package which is so small, that you can't reserve a full week of timeshare at any size, season or resort. Therefore, you can't trade with a exchange company since all exchanges must be for a full week. Other companies sometimes sell small packages but almost all these companies allow you to combine your small amount of points with another years worth of points to at least that a full week of vacation. MGV doesn't allow you to combine points from another time period.

3- Right now the resale value of MGV is so low that for $1,000 resale you can buy about $15,000 worth of developer priced TS.

    Hope this helps
