  • Fairfield Sapphire Valley or Fairfield Mountains

We will roam around for to do and see, but will be at the resort at least half the week.

Which is better for getting out to see area things.

Which is the better Resort for enjoying fishing... And more lovely the resort grounds? We're not into hiking.

I have stayed in both areas. I would probably go with Sapphire Valley. There are a lot of waterfalls in the area. And some lakes. You could take day trips to visit the Biltmore and on another day take a trip to the Lake Lure area, take a boat tour of the lake for very little $, (which is where Fairfield Mountains is located). There are some cute little towns with nice shops. Both areas have golf. I don't know about the fishing though.
