    Newbie: Resale versus Direct from Developer

    Hi guys. Newbie message again. I was at a Hilton timeshare presentation last week and the guy was saying that if I were to buy a resale timeshare, I would not get the full benefits of buying from the developer. Is that true? Are there benefits that a resale buying would not receive?

    Not with Hilton. Unless things have changed, the benefits are the same, whether you buy resale or developer.

      Don't own Hilton but I know Disney Vacation Club gives the same benefits to resale as direct.

        If it was at the HGVC Affiliate at GPR resorts Marbrisa...resales there don't transfer HGVC points. But there are better ways to get HGVC points resale if that is the system you want. I would not buy from the developer at developer prices....no way.

          I have bought two Plantation Beach Club and two Charter Club aftermarket, and get the same benefits from them as I do from my original developer HGVC at Seaworld.
          Give me a place with 4 S's: Sun, sand, surf, & suds-Dale (from Illinois)

              No difference. My only purchase was resale and I get all the benefits that a retail buyer has.

                HGVC owners who purchased direct from HGVC get something called "elite" staus if they buy two or more TSs worth at least 14,000 pts. BUT you'll pay dearly for that "elite " staus. Most people don't think it is worth paying an extra $30K
