Which brings me to my favorite I love to return to - the ocean.
My favorite timeshares I return to every year are the Marriott Aruba Surf Club and Bluebeard's BeachClub, STT.
These resorts are polar opposites in amenities but location wise - both are situated on the beautiful ocean.

And after my trip to Grand Cayman this year - I will be returning to my Morritt's Tortuga Oceanfront unit every year - see ya Shorts!

What do winter 2BR weeks go for at Cas Del Mar???

Pat- I looked at the resorts website and it looks like the asking price for the 2brs (weeks 1-16) are in the 14-16K range. Thats asking price..so I bet you could get one for alot less. I sometimes see them on ebay.

Ahhhhh, not a bargain - but a killer location.
I visited Aruba Beach Club this past March....my DDs friend was staying in a first floor oceanfront unit...another big WOW factor
I am a sucker for an ocean view.

The good news is he enjoys being here for whatever odd reason and that we can change a persons feel for a "bad" ownership or save a person from making that very expensive bad purchase. Isn't that what we are all about?
I agree that we need some balance here. Buying a timeshare from a developer is so easy but getting rid of it and not losing your shirt is not. If you buy re-sale in the first place and pay a lot less, then selling for peanuts is not such a shock.

The problem is that most people buy first and then investigate and if they don't do it fast enough, then they are really stuck with an overprized purchase but they can still learn here how to use it to their advantage and enjoy the vacations in a nice condo at a great vacation destination so not all is bad.

Loved Meadow Lake when we went several years ago....funny story, I was so excited the morning that we were to head out to Yellowstone, (and we had a second story unit, which required us to exit down a flight of wooden steps to parking lot)...well, I was so excited, I was leaping down the stairs, talking and with my mouth open....unfortunately, for me, on the 3rd step down, a huge bug went down into my mouth and to the back of my throat (it was Spring, and if you know this area, bugs are really active at that time)....OMG....I had to race back into the unit, and "forcibly" eject the critter.....it was just awful....for about 15 minutes...until, remembering Yellowstone was waiting, I leapt down the stairs again, only this time, keeping my mouth firmly shut, and my chin tucked down!
Life is short, live it with this awareness.

I don't know if it was me I'd consider it funny I'll have to make sure I keep my mouth shut when we head there on June 14th! Happy to hear you enjoyed Meadow Lake.

I'm new to timesharing so I can't say there's any resort I've returned to again and again, but I do know I'll be back to Christmas Mountain Village in Wisconsin Dells. As Boca says, a lot of it is just location, but it also resonates somehow with all the campgrounds my parents dragged me to in Michigan in my youth. It has a lot of the good stuff from back then - paddle boats, mini-golf, swimming pools, purty stuff like Witches Gulch, taffy, fudge, tourist trap nonsense - but I don't have to go camping to get them.

Four Seasons Troon North and Avaira are two of the finest resorts overall.
I've stayed at the Sheraton Desert Oasis in Scottsdale over a dozen times and the Marriott in Poipu and other purposely built for timeshare Marriotts are very nice. I don't care for the Marriott hotel conversions.

Bing likes the timeshare concept and realizes that the people who know how to use the system benefit.
He does not like the way it is sold and mismanaged and his negativity reflects his displeasure.
He did make positive comments and applauded a description of sales and marketing philosophies based on integrity and credibility made on the timeshare beat website a couple years ago.

It's kind of funny since we've never owned there, but we've been going to Hyatt's Beach House in Key West every year since 2000. We really enjoy the resort and the island.

Definitely OBX, and prefer the Nags Head area.

Love and thrive on beach/ocean locations mostly east coast and Florida Gulf coast . We have been to many top resorts like Westin Maui, MC, Harborside Atlantis,South Seas Captiva and the Royals. I would visit Hawaii every year if I lived on the west coast but flights are too long for me.

The question was where do I return to and that would be Marriott Barony Beach on HHI. Does not have mega buildings so it feels more comfortable to me and it's near the tip of the island with I/O pools,a great gym and spa. Like many of you I like the feel of the place.

Surfside Resort in Falmouth, MA. I have 2 weeks in a 2 br(1 0f only 2) unit with all rooms facing the ocean(about 80 ft from beach) with balconies..

Wyndham's Oceanwalk in Daytona is the single resort I've been to most often. It's convenient to my home (great for just a weekend getaway), on the beach, very comfortable, and basically a self-contained destination with a small waterpark and the Ocean Center right across the street, and a shopping mall attached to the resort with good restaurants!

If you haven't been- you should!

I love Glacier Canyon Resorts in WI Dells. It's close and really great summer or winter.

I want to become a regular at Beachplace towers in Fort lauderdale
