  • Favorite Menus while Timesharing

There's an awesome thread on using the kitchen.. so as I'm about to go on my very first timeshare week....

What is it that everyone cooks?

    What's your favorite menu items?

What are you standby 'quick and easy' items?

    TIA!!!

We like to cook while on vacation. I don't have time during the normal work week. We usually have a couple of stand-by meals that I take the ingredients with us ( or buy at the local grocery):

    1. Spaghetti - easy to increase the number that it will feed if you find yourself cooking for 4 extra people!

    2. Steak or hamburgers - on the grill with potato and carrot packets. Yummy!!

When looking for another quick meal, we will often order pizza!

Chicken is versatile, as is fish.

You can bake, saute, grill...you name it.

A few key ingredients can make it an easy fix. Marinate the chicken in some italian dressing or olive oil and lemon juice and seasonings.

Pasta is always a great accompaniment.

We have lots of salads. And salad ingredients can easily convert to side dishes or flavorings for your main dish.

Fruit and yogurt make excellent snacks, sprinkle in some nuts or tasty crunch items, and you have a nourishing and enjoyable lunch or snack.

I often will cook a dish ahead if we are driving to our TS....frozen lasagne makes a great cold pak for the cooler, and a great meal that can usually be for two nights.

If you have a grill, steak, burgers, hot dogs....quick and easy.

These are just a few of our standbys.
Life is short, live it with this awareness.

        Prime Rib Roast

Start the week with a Prime Rib Roast, baked potatoes and corn on the cob.
Buy a loaf of french bread and have BBQ/AuJus dip sandwiches during the week.

When we go to Holiday Inn @ Orange Lake we like to BBQ on their grills.
