"Hard to get back into the box" A cliche from every timeshare salespersons mouth but very true.

I find it really hard to believe that anyone would consider a timeshare as a "gift". Oh my !!! What were you thinking ?
Then, that anyone would like to get such a thing as a gift ?

Timesharing is the greatest thing every created for travel. In all time inventions, it's a bit below the flush toilet and indoor plumbing, but much higher than sliced bread.

I could live without nicely cut bread, but I cannot live without my timeshares.

I have to agree.....Timeshares are the best!

I just returned from a beautiful Marriott hotel in Paris.....It was lovely, and the service was great. However, even after being upgraded to a larger room with a king bed, it simply couldn't compare to a timeshare. Sometimes, staying in a hotel in unavoidable, or, your best bet all considered. However, I'd rather be in a timeshare, no question about it.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

We love timesharing and we never go to our home resort in FL. It forces us to think outside of the box. It has allowed our young adult children to take nice vacations that they could never afford. Do we vacation in hotels too-- yup sometimes-- but I like having choices of where to sit when on vacation!

And 1950Bing without sounding rude-- me thinks you like timeshares or you wouldn't be on this board!!

A few years ago my brother and SIL joined SW and I for a week together on Moloka'i. It was there first trip to Hawai'i, and they flew into Honolulu a few days early so they could see Wa'ikiki, Pearl Harbor, etc. They have a good friend who is in the travel business who got them a good rate at a 3.5* hotel in Wa'kiki, about four blocks from the beach, "city" view.

After the week on Molokai we divvied up the shared expenses - annual fee for the unit I used for the exchange, exchange fees, occupany taxes, rental car and gas for rental car, groceries, and a few other miscellaneous items.

I detailed the expenses, showed each person's share and gave it to my brother.

He looked at it without saying a word for a couple of minutes. Then he said he paid less for the entire week on Moloka'i than he paid for two nights at the hotel in Wa'ikiki, and he had much nicer accommodations.

We enjoy timesharing; it works wonderfully for us and it's hard to imagine traveling any other way.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

                “You shouldn't wear that body.”

Timeshare makes many things possible that we wouldn't have considered before. We just turned our two bedroom Marriott lock off into a two bedroom and a three bedroom exchange for three families over Easter in Orlando. This is a getaway celebrating a special occasion and it is one of many opportunities that probably wouldn't have happened if we hadn't gotten excited about timeshares. We don't live close by to extended family members and so this is an opportunity to meet somewhere warm for a week. With the costs of travel, eating out constantly and staying in cramped hotel rooms with relatively few amenities, we probably wouldn't be doing this. Now we can spread out in spacious places, play together right onsite at the resort, and eat meals together rather than trying to find tables in crowded restaurants. Timeshare is the best way to do big get togethers!
