  • Article about newbie timeshare vacation in Williamsburg.

This lady's blog talks about staying at a Williamsburg timeshare, having a great vacation, and barely leaving the property.... Perfect example of a positive first impression for the industry!

    sounds like Powhatan to me...

It is nice to read about positive timeshare vacations outside of forums dedicated to them.

All I can say is "Colonial Williamsburg - boring?" I loved visiting there and spent time at the TS only for sleeping.

What a wasted vacation. Who really wants to go away and stay at the resort when there is so much to see and do ?

There is something to be said about doing nothing at all every once in a while...

One of my most relaxing getaways was simply staying in a secluded cabin in the Blue Ridge Mtns for a week.. We'd wake up, have coffee and muffins on the wraparound porch (with hundreds of hummingbirds emptying the feeders!)- went for a daily hike and an evening drive- fished a little in a stream on the back of the property- and basically accomplished very little else! We did break down and take my daughter to a giant game room called the Fun Factory in Franklin.

Another great trip (back before the kids) was a week with my wife just going from motel room to motel room in the Florida Keys.. It POURED all week, so we basically sat around playing backgammon and mixing drinks... Of course- no kids made doing that possible (and actually kind of fun!)..

Just my best guess when I said Powhatan as they do have separate adult/children pools and mini-golf and, uh, geese.

How do you know it's Kings Creek?

The outdoor building and the brick word around the pool. Second looks at the pictures I think you are right it is Powhatan.

                    Gotcha!

Been quite a few years since I've been in WBurg.

the timeshare was Governor's Green (Wyndham)

                      Hi all -

I am glad you enjoyed my blog post about our timeshare stay!

Just thought I'd let you know, the timeshare we stayed at was actually Governor's Green.

And to the person who said it was a wasted vacation, I actually kind of agree. But this was meant as a family gathering (my grandmother, aunts/uncles, cousins, and my immediate family were there) and we have a 16-month old who has recently started taking 2-3 hr naps right in the middle of the afternoon. So although we didn't explore Williamsburg as we should have (and normally would have), that wasn't really the point of this trip and at least we had an enjoyable time with my family!

Someimtes, wasted vacations are great! Depends on how badly you need to "get away"---if you really need to decompress from work, going somewhere where you can just melt is a great thing.
