Wow! Can't believe it. I just returned from Oak N Spruce yesterday. It is a very nice resort, both pet and family friendly. Definitely will consider buying a two bedroom Presidential unit during the summer, so that I can bring my two dogs there every year.

Checked with II. It still says pet allowed, but there is nothing available. It seems RCI has more inventories than II. Too bad no more vacation for my dogs.

We can't stay at the Four Season's anymore because they used to allow pets. I was suffering my last two trips to the resort in Scotsdale and Aviara.

If a resort had as a selling point that it is pet friendly, I do think it's wrong to change it later. However, I think the opposite is true as well. If a resort is billed as no pets allowed, then it shouldn't make exceptions and change the policy later.
I agree with you 100%. We would never stay at a resort that allows pets. We love our dog dearly but would never take her on vacation.

As someone who has owned BIG dogs and now has a little dog... I would never have subjected anyone to my big lugs... but my lil maizy has traveled amazingly well for the year we have had her... Plane trips car trips hotels you name it... I think one of the reasons we haven't booked anything with RCI this year is because they don't love the pet!!

I totally agree that there are enough rooms/buildings at most resorts that they could have a few that accomodate pets... jeez they let kids in!!!

exactly, owners may be able to have pets and exchangers (no matter what exchange company) can not, I think I've noticed that somewhere before.

              Spence is on the money!!!!

I just spoke with a contact at Silverleaf corporate, and he confirmed that Glitter & Spence's assessment is correct..

There has not been a change in their pet-friendly policy toward Silverleaf owners- but exchange guests are no longer allowed to bring pets.

My contact wouldn't explain the reason for this change, but did give a little chuckle when I asked if such a decision might benefit the resort in two ways: by reducing the number of animals at the resorts, and also giving sales an added tool in their "exclusive to owners" pitch....
