Using lockouts for exchange...
The important things to consider with a lockout are normally the following:
* How the unit splits.. (Many two bedroom villas split into a 1br and a studio- not two one bedroom villas.. Also- ask about kitchen facilities in the smaller portion. If not sufficient- it may only qualify for hotel unit exchanges.)..
* Be sure you take into consideration your exchange fees. Many clients who tour at a resort and are excited about the lockout feature don't realize the exchange fees that are also required. When you look at your annual cost- make sure you are aware of maintenance fees, reserves, taxes, and potential exchange fees.
Owning a lockout type villa can add a great amount of flexibility and enjoyment to an owner, so is a great option for most buyers.my travel website: Vacation-Times.org.
