Getaway or ac

We have been with II for many years and never do a straight deposit which means we never take AC's that are offered to us every year! As I have stated buy where you like going each year and everything else is second option.

Because we did this we only use request first. What I want to know is if you can use Getaway most times and area's why want a AC. We had one given to us by our resort one year and found no use for it because of limits and locations.

My understanding is yes a Getaway may cost few bucks more than a AC but not enought to worry about!

Flexchange trades

I have found Ac's very useful as they will pick up weeks that never make it to Getaways.

If you want to go to Palm Springs, Phoenix, Hawaii etc. during prime time you might be able to pick up a late deposit or cancellation weeks the come and go quickly on II.

I have gotten some very nice 2 bedroom Westins and Marriotts during prime time by using Flexchange.

We always use our AC's - we get two per year and use them.

Prior to this year - they were always used to trade into DVC in November and January. This was huge for us - but of course that is no more.

This year we used them for two New Hampshire weeks (ski and summer) and find them to be a great value.

BUT, I have been thinking a bit more about our January Orlando trip. I was going to wait to get an AC to book it - but after looking at the Getaway prices for Marriotts - I think that is what I will do.

The getaway in not much more and I hope to save the AC and use it for New Hampshire again.

AC = Accomidation Certificates. (aka Bonus Weeks)

For good deposits - II will sometimes offer you these. Basically, it another week for you to use. Exchange fees are slightly higher - but not enough to make a difference.
