  • Question about Maintenance Fee & Season?

If I have 3 weeks on a timeshare property, does that mean I pay the maintenance fee for each week I use the unit? Or is it just once a year?

On my "Statement of Understanding" sheet, I noticed that it says that "there is an annual maintenance fee per purchased week associated with my membership".

Does that mean that I pay each time I use the unit?

Also I notice my contract says something about a "Winter" season.
Does that mean I can use the unit only in the winter?

I guess I didn't ask enough questions at the presentation.

    Thanks.

These questions sound very property specific

    Where do you own?

In a general sense, you pay for each week you own, the season means either prime winter season, or off-season, depends on where the resort(s) are located.

You pay annually for any and all of the weeks you have available, whether you use them or not.

In addition there are a few resorts who charge different annual fees for different week seasons, so if you had three weeks- it is conceivable that you could end up paying 3 different rates- tho it is most unlikely.

If you are still at rescind period, you should consider look at your contract and follow the steps to rescind.

You usually will get one bill for all the 3 weeks MF since they are at the same resort. And rules may vary if you don't pay the bill based on the scheduled date.

If you get less season floating (like Winter for Beach resort, or Summer for Ski resort), you can not floating to high demand period. On the other hand, if you get better floating period, you should be able to float to less demand period.
