  • Mandatory All Inclusive Questions

We are thinking of going to Salmon Falls Resort in Alaska. On RCI it is mandatory all inclusive....includes your food, use of exercise facility, hot tubs and rt airport transportation and daily housekeeping....

Here are my questions....to whom and when do you pay the AI fee? It also states that gratuities are not included........so do they give you an envelope at the end of the week for grats or do you do your gratuities on an individual basis?

Anyone here ever been to this resort?

    Hi Donna,
I have never stayed at Salmon Falls, but have had dinner there a few times. It is located near Ketchikan, Alaska and I live there. It is a very nice, lodgestyle resort that focuses on fishing and the outdoors. It has a spectacular setting right on the waters of the Inside Passage with a beautiful waterfall next to the main lobby and restaurant. One plus is that it is on the Ketchikan road system - so that gives you access to all that the area has to offer. Ketchikan is surprisingly well set up for visitors as we are the first stop in Alaska for the majority of cruise ships. The best place to see what it has to offer is by going to visit-ketchikan.com. Bear in mind that although some excursions/tours are available year round, most only operate from April through September. Wildlife here is abundant - bears, seals, bald eagles, humpback whales, orcas etc. Scenery is spectacular with Misty Fjords National Monument only a short floatplane/boat ride away.
To answer your other questions; I doubt very much that they will hand you an envelope for tips - they are just letting you know that they allow tipping and it is up to your discretion to tip what you feel you want - standard here is 15% +- same as elsewhere (more if you catch a trophy king salmon of course!).
I would expect that your AI would be paid at check-in like elsewhere, if not I'm sure they'll let you know how to do it.
Hope this helps - enjoy your trip.
