    Hi,

I just joined the forum today and glad to meet you all. I have my time share at Shanee Resorts in Poconos, PA which is now Wndham Resorts. Recently, I got an offer to upgrade to 'Points'. I will get 77,000 points a year for some $3500 one time. Wondering if any body already joined there and can share experiences?

I am curious to know how these points can be utilized for what? Any catches like additional fees etc?

My sense is that this is likely to be a very bad deal. First, it sounds like you probably have an off-season week, so your fees per thousand points are going to be high. Second, you could buy 77K resale (with lower fees per thousand points) for $800 or less, including all closing costs on the secondary market.

Finally, 77K isn't very much in that system.

I am an onwer in Shawnee. 77K points will not get you much. A 2 bedroom summmer week in Atlantic City for example, will require ~210K points and a 2 night weekend is ~91K points. The 77K will not even get you a 1 bedroom off season for a week. Right now you get (buy-it-now) ~88K points on ebay of under $200, plus closing. I would not join.

Don't convert. I just bought 168,000 points for $500 resale. It's a biennial but still less than what they offered you.

Good luck and read the forums and ask lots of questions before you take the plunge on this one. You won't regret it everyone here is very helpful.

Thanks a bunch, all. I decided not to go for it.
