2010 timeshare plans

We have six weeks booked in Florida for the upcoming winter. Here is our list.

Jan. 24- Bonnet Creek
Jan. 31- Cypress Pointe Grand Villas
Feb. 06- Grand Beach
Feb. 13- Grand Beach
Feb. 20- VV @ Parkway
Feb. 27 - VV @ Parkway


We chose these resorts because they are all 2 or 3 Bedroom units and we will be joined by family and friends for at least 3 of the weeks. We don't mind Orlando, because our beach weeks last year were a total bust due to cold and windy weather. We used RCI for all of these exchanges.

This is what we have so far;

January 15 - Aruba Renaissance 1BR- Our first visit since we bought this over 5 years ago. Have been renting this out every year so it's time to use our week.

January 22- LaCabana Aruba. recently purchased this week so decided to go to Aruba for two consecutive weeks. We own week 2 at Ren and switched it to week 3 so we could stay two weeks in Aruba. One of the reasons for going is that the unit we bought was just refurbished so we will be in a brand new 1BR for our week at LaCabana. Best part of purchase was that prior owner paid special assessment so we got this brand new after it was already paid for.

March 19- start of 3 weeks at Vacation Village at Weston for annual family vacation for Passover/Easter spring break. I will be going 1 week early to take care of everything before rest of family arrives.

March 26- Vacation village reserved two 2br units for us and son, 2 daughters and their families including our 3 gorgeous grandkids ages
5,3 and 2.

April 2nd. Vacation Village, so far have one 2br for us and one 1br for daughter's family. Not sure if my other daughter and family can stay for 2 weeks so have not reserved anything for her yet.

We also recently purchased Thanksgiving week 47 in 1BR at Playa Linda in Aruba and rented it out for this year. We will probably use our week in 2010 since Playa Linda is also going to be redone so if it's ready in time plan on using our week in brand new unit. If we don't go we will probably trade to another Caribbean Island for December.

Will also go somewhere during summer in USA. Probably Colorado but will wait till wife can confirm vacation.

-June 2 week trip to Worldmark Couerdalane, Worldmark west Yelowstone, Old Faithful Inn (cash), Meadow lake rci exchange
-July 2 weeks of Worldmark on the Oregon coast
-Aug 2 weeks at DVC In Disneyworld RCI exchanges

Will throw a trip in to Maui somewhere, maybe fall

A lot more drive to locations in 2010, no money for flying next year for a family of 6

Jan. Exchange for youngest daughter. Disney Saratoga Springs. Hilton points thru RCI.

April . Sheraton Desert Oasis,AZ. II exchange

July. Wyndham Nashville. Wyndham points.

Sept.? Trying to find something with these almost useless RCI deposits.

Hopefully some other drive to places using up RCI deposits.

Man, you guys are great planners.

I suck at this.

Unfortunately I'm still very tied to my job so we don't get our vacations approved until February and I really can't plan until then which really sucks when it comes to timeshare planning.

I guess that's why I'm favoring points instead of weeks lately.
Seems to work better for me.

I know where I want to go just don't know when yet.

What are the sources of your 2010 timeshare vacation plans? For 2010, I currently have three DAE exchanges, all 2BR, in England, Ireland, and the Canary Islands, and two RCI rentals, both European studios in late Spring and Summer, and both for around $200/week. I guess that is the way it goes these days, DAE for exchanges and RCI for cheap rentals.

We're either at our home resorts, internal exchanges within the systems we own or exchanging through I.I. Interval still gives us decent value for our deposits, thus we still use them.
