So true, most of us here learned the hard way. Congratulations for arriving here on time so you could take care of it.

        Sent it off...now what?

Now what do I do? Just wait for the money to be put back in the account, or will I hear from them? Just curious. And yes i have seen some good deals on the resale market. Just don't know where to purchase from. I definately want a timeshare and will keep looking, but I do need some help on where to purchase one at. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks so much for you guys....this is awesome.

Just wait till you get the return receipts from the letters. That will show you that the letters have been received. The refund should come within a reasonable period after that--the time frame may be specified in your contract.

A lot depends on what you want to do with it, use it, exchange it, or both. If you want to use it, you should probably look first at timeshares within driving distance. For exchange, it depends on which exchange company you want to use.

The best time to buy is November to January because of the maintenance fee cycle.

Some HOA's may even give you a free week. I know of some resorts on the NC Outer Banks that would do that for a blue week or maybe even a white, but you probably want something closer to home. Perhaps some members in your area could help there. Personally, I would buy a cheap red over taking a free blue in most instances.

There's your answer, then. Be sure to put the return receipts in a very safe place and hold on to them in case there's a problem getting the money back. They are your proof that the letter was received.

Take your time and find out what you really want.....don't just focus on the deals. There are deals everywhere and everyday. The most important thing to do is to take your time, research, and decide what timeshare and /or points system really meets your family's needs. Some of those deals out there may not do that. Don't just buy for the deal.

Many of us own multiple timeshares to fit our diverse travel and family needs/wants.
