  • Interval International's "Guest Certificates"

I have a remaining exchange from Interval International, can not use it next year, so I want to rent it out. Has anyone had any experiencesv renting a timeshare out using an Interval International "GUEST CERTIFICATE"???
    Thanks,
    Don in Auburn, CA.

I do not believe that II allows rentals of their exchanges. Doing so could cost you your membership....You are entitled to give away your exchanged week to a friend, or relative for free. I believe that it's OK for them to cover the cost of the guest certificate, and the exchange fee, if that helps.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

DO NOT Rent your exchange - see if a friend or relative can use it and then get the guest cert for them.

Renting an exchange is strictly prohibited by Interval International. Doing so can result in the exchange being cancelled and your membership being suspended or terminated. You may give it to a friend who can pay for the exchange fee and the guest certificate fee. It's debatable if you can recover your MF (not make a profit) without worry of getting into trouble with Interval.

The worst thing in my mind is having a renter show up only to find the reservation was cancelled. Then, not only are you dealing with a suspension or termination of your account, you're also dealing with what will likely be a very angry renter. IMHO it's just not worth the risk.
