Originally posted by bnobleI came down to either developer changing the rules, or sales staff. When the rules change, it's usually not too hard to work within/around them. But, there's nothing that gets my vacation off on the wrong foot quite like having to haggle with the sales staff to get a parking pass.... not enough time for all the timeshares ®

I voted for the closest thing which is "Disappointment with Exchanges" or what I woudl say is more the hassle of playing the exchange game.
I own a few one-offs where I generally get easy exchanges, just a phone call, (like Renaissance Aruba and Royal Holiday Club - I realize many might disagree on that one, but my dealing with then have been hassle free!) and they are a real joy. I don't need these because I have so many other weeks, but they are so easy to deal with, I hate get rid of them. UnfoI also own many other weeks that I love but when not using myself, prefer to just rent ( easily, I'm lucky) them, because waiting for exchanges through II and RCI, makes me crazy. I prefer to just rent out my units and then rent what I want if I must.

I also voted for developer changing the rules, but it didn't quite match my biggest gripe, which is the difficulty in exerting any influence on the running of the resort owned. Board is controlled by developer who can do what they want. Getting elected to the board is not easy--I have tried. Board will not provide a list of owners saying it's confidential, so it's difficult to organize and get anything done or changed.

I voted for dissapointment with exchanges as the closest to my frustration issue. If I could lump RCI as a Developer then that would have fit... RCI changing the rules, trade power (reduced) calculations, increasing fees, useless/aggravating online system, lack of true alternatives, etc.
We like to go new places. So I trade alot. I bought very specifically to get the best bang for my purschase and MFs costs. But RCI's most recent changes in trade power calculations have got me worried for the future. That said, since I do plan (usually) ahaed I am still doing very well on actual trades. But the new uncertainlty I feel... do I have enough juice to get XYZ exchange (which I didn't have before)... is very unsettling to me.

IMG Finance
I was contacted by Stephen Kelley from IMG Finance about the marketing and selling of my timeshare and was quite skeptical at first. I went forward with their services and would like people to know they stick by their word and are an honest resale company. If this helps anyone, you're welcome.
