A friend of mine from high school called yesterday. She moved to Big Sur, California this past year and hasn't found a job yet and doesn't think she will for a while, so she's thinking about using her savings on a trip to Europe. She says she'll worry about retirement later.

We traveled more last year than we ever had before, and we'll be traveling a fair bit in 2010, including a stay of over a week in Pigeon Forge in January, so I guess we're in that 45% as well. We'll be hitting Florida, too, but that won't be until April so just outside the survey.

I think most of us on this forum fit that category.

I know I'm headed to Spain in December and My Mom is going on a Panama Canal cruise on Monday on Holland America. My brother is in Liege now.

So I guess the survey is fairly accurate. I hope it's a sign that the economy is getting better and not that people are travelling and planning to go bankrupt and wipe out the credit cards.
