Have you ever had a problem getting thru security in the airport?
My husband's heart rate monitor was stolen from his TSA-approved locked suitcase in Palm Springs. The suitcase even had a TSA inspection notice inside!
All TSA employeess are NOT patriotic guys just keeping us safe...
Easy for the Baggage Handlers to get a pass key. It may have been them and not the TSA but who knows. Hope you filled a claim.
Years ago we were traveling with 2 kids and the younger one was ~8. He was pull of the line just as we were boarding. He was lead to behind a screened area for search. I followed about 15 feet behind and the tsa agent rudely said I could not come. I protested that in no way I would allow him to search a kid alone behind a screen area all by themselves. I need at least a visual. He again said rudely for me to stay back. I kept complain until another tsa intervened and said was okay. Saw a similar thing happen to a girl ~6? at another airport. She was crying and screaming and the parent were not allowed to go with her. (What idiots do they hire!)
Trip back from San Fransciso last year. tsa directing first class passenger and elite frequent flyer members to a shorter screen line. Must be getting paid under the table to help airlines with their preferred customers.

Actually, they are getting paid above the table by both the Airports and Airlines for that additional service.
I do a lot of photography and invariably when we travel I have a backpack full of cameras, lenses, chargers, etc. and this usually results in my being pulled aside and my backpack checked manually. I have just come to expect it now. My 50-500 mm lens is the one that always throws them off as when it is not extended it just looks thru the scanner as a big cylinder and they always want to look at that. Once in Mexico I was even asked to put the lens on a camera and take a photo. lol

My wife has had double knee replacement and it she always gets pulled for additional scanning and pad down search. We know it is going to happen and just plan for it.
I get searched every time because of my leg brace. I know about liquids and such but why would they take away my home made jelly I just bought on vacation?
Because your jelly can be used as the fuel source for a homemade explosive device. Or something else that would be an even better fuel source can be disguised as homemade jelly.
The rule restricting all liquids to 3 oz or less per container one quart size Zip-loc bag maximum creates a practical limit on the amount of homemade bomb making materials that one individual can bring onto an airplane.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”
“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”
Does toothpaste count as a liquid? If not, the only liquid item I have is eye drops. Everything else I bring is paste or powder.
I've always considered toothpaste, and things like it (hand cream) in the liquid category.
Just came back as I just checked the TSA website (always the best reference). The restriction is on liquids and gels. Here is a statement that might help:
"If you need larger amounts of liquids, gels and aerosols such as toothpaste or shampoo, please place them in your luggage and check them with your airline."
but when we left San Diego on the 12th of last month, Joyce's wheel chair checked positive for explosives
So, once that happened we had all our bags checked over, and over, still don't know what set it off.

That will teach you to try to smuggle explosives in a wheelchair.
My 80+ year old mother got pulled aside for screening, well not really pulled aside since she was in a wheelchair and needed to be "wanded down" and ended up being part of someone training program. It took forever for them to process her.
Next time put your panties in a see thru bag marked "dirty underwear" and I bet they don't touch them...

Or you could find a sicko that likes that sort of thing. Crazy, but I was on ebay today searching for new nylons. (ok call me cheap - but those things are so darn expensive I thought I would try). Anyway.....there are people selling USED ones all with "private" auctions. Some of them were going for over $20! Sure it meets the needs of someones fetish - but YUCK!
