What is the latest that you can cancel a Southwest Airline Ticket (hours/days before the flight leaves) and still use the funds for rebooking?

Probably right up to the flight. I'm not 100% sure because I've never cancelled that close.

And actually, you may even be able to use the funds if you didn't take the flight and didn't cancel. But don't quote me on that one.

I tried to see if I could get a definite answer on the SW website. I found some information about refunds, on fully refundable fares, which indicates that you can request the refund even after the flight has left. But, to be sure what the policy is, I'd call them.

Even if you don't get on the flight and don't formally cancel, the funds will be available for 12 months from the date of the original booking.
