Duck Boat collides with barge in Philadelphia‎

A duck boat packed with tourists was hit by a city-owned barge
this afternoon sending 37 adults and children into the waters of
the Delaware River near Penns Landing. ( 2 missing )

What a horrible thing to happen on a vacation.

I did the duck tour last month in Branson and the driver did the "this is a coast guard approved vessel" speech and pointed us to the flotation devices. I guess they didn't have enough time to get them out and put them on.

I agree this is scary. This is one of my families favorite things to do. We loved the Boston tour best. We find a duck tour is one of the best things to do the first night, to find out what else there is to see and do in town and make plans from there. Anyone know if the 2 missing were recovered?

It's noon and they haven't found them yet and they have called off the search as the visibility is to bad for the search team. It doesn't look good. shaggy

found 1 female body

I heard on the news this AM that at 4:30 AM a female body was found in the delaware River but has not yet beenconfirmed as the missing duck boat passenger. Plans are to surface the duck boat today.

After I saw the video of the accident I am amazed that only 2 people are missing and that all of the rescued passengers were found alive. The barge was actually on top of the duck boat and they were no where near the same size.


Addendum

Male body has now been recovered. Still no positive ID on either.

The video/picture of the incident is alarming, as in, "What the hell . . . How could you not see that huge barge in front of you?"

Our Ducks are docked. Of course, we are kinda partial to them since they were featured on Undercover Boss.

That's partial to them, not that I will ever ride one.
