  • Brussels/Jet Airways?

Still working on DS flight to Madrid for his semester abroad. Now the cheapest fare is on Jet Airways JFK-Brussels with a 1 hour 5 minute connection to a Brussels Air flight to Madrid. They codeshare, so his suitcase should go straight through. Is 1 hour 5 minutes enough time to make the connection?
Also, the same fare is available if I book the flight as either airline (with codeshare for the other segment)> If I book as Brussels Air will we be able to choose a seat for the long segment (transatlantic) ahead of time? Sorry for the basic questions.

I went ahead and booked it, as prices were going up and it was the last low fare seat. No, my son will only be there for one hour, but he may return when he travels around after his semester is over. Yes, I would happily stay there a week, but have to stay home and work to pay his tuition!
