  • Continental ending American Express reward point transfers by Sept 30, 2010

If you need to transfer American Express reward points to Continental you need to do it by Sept 30, 2010.
Continental's contract with AX reward points is ending by Sept. 30, 2010 and it is not going to be renewed.
You can still transfer points and also request advance points until Sept 30, 2010.

According to the memo on the AMEX Membership rewards page, the change is effective Sept 30, 2011.

There is a merger going on with Continental and United, I am not sure which one of these airlines FF program is going to be used. I only have FF miles with United so I am hoping that they remain apart.

I was told that I should hurry up and transfer my AX reward points by a Continental agent because their contract was expiring by the end of the month.
It's worth a call to find out if he was incorrect.

Looking on continental's website, I find nothing about the transfer of AMEX MR points to One Pass miles ending. I would think that Continental would have some sort of info if indeed the program will be terminated at the end of this month...but then again...

Reading the AMEX MR post it states: "...We wanted to let you know about an upcoming change to the Membership Rewards® program from American Express that will take effect next year after September 30, 2011." [I added the bold type] That doesn't sound/look like a typo.

Has Delta merged with any of the major US airlines?

In the announcements of which staff is going where, it appears that it will be UA's people running the combined ff program. Not a good sign on *Net blocking, the major issue I have with UA.

                Incorrect info for Continental

Coincidently I received a letter by mail today from AX stating that the contract with CO does not end until Dec 31, 2011.
I will miss the AX/CO program plus the fact that CO miles were the only ones that did not expire. Maybe there is another but I don't know it.
