Baggage fees

I will be flying Delta & they allow one 62" bag (for$24 ). If I measure my bag from the back, seam to seam, it is just about makes it. If you count the handle, wheels & any protruding hardware it might go slightly over. There are also front pockets that could add on an inch or two. How strict are they? How do they do the measurements? If it goes over the 62 inches they charge $175.00.

The bigger problem could be weight. Bags that are that large are pretty easy to pack more than 50lbs.

O.K., thanks. I really don't anticipate packing it to full capacity. It is just the only good suitcase I really have. I'm going to New Orleans & it is still hot there, so I'm packing light clothes.
