SW Award Travel Ticket

I have a SW Award Travel Ticket that I booked, now with the sale this week, I would like to buy the ticket instead. Can I book the travel and then cancel the Award Ticket and then reuse it before it would have expired?

I believe so. You may lose the booking fee you used when you booked your flights with the rewards, but I'm not 100% positive about that. You can call SW and they'll let you know.

Yes you can. I do this all the time.
Use my awards to get the flight, then if I see something really cheap along the way I cancell the reward flight and buy the seat.
