In contrast to the UK which already had a massive air ticket tax, recently increased it, and has scheduled yet another increase, all for the stated purpose of reducing air travel to ''save the planet'' and the Germans who just put in a more modest air ticket tax to help pay their portion of the Greek bail out, the Irish government has just CUT their air ticket tax, from 10 euros to just 3 euros. They hope to increase flights to Ireland to bring more tourists and businessmen.
