We're sitting in the Springfield airport waiting for our plane. Here's how it's gone so far.
A checked bag was 5 pounds overweight. Pay $50 or move 5 pounds to one of our carryons. We did. Then he asked if we wanted to check the carry-on, for free. We didn't catch the reason why, but something new. We did.
We've been five pounds overweight before and all they ever did was put a heavy tag on it.
We went through security and to the gate.
I got called back to the outside counter. They needed the combinations to the locks on my golf bag. I waited about 15 minutes to make sure they got it all back together, which is problematic. They claim they did. I'll find out in Clearwater.
I had to go through security again . . . and this time I got the fuill patdown.
No full-body scanners in Springfield yet, but coming soon.
