Now for my next travel question. After we leave Quebec City we will be traveling through New Brunswick on our way to Prince Edward Island. Is there anything we should not miss on this route? Think we will have to spend one night in New Brunswick. Any great places to stop?

    Thanks,
    Nancy

If you look in guide books, they have different roads, or routes, that you can take. Try the Fundy coastal drive...just beautiful! Or, spend some time in St. John, also on the coast.

Plan to come back via Bay of Fundy. Just interested in anyplace worthwhile on route to/or near either Fredericton and/or Moncton.

      Thanks

St. Johns has the reversing falls and the bay tides make for some awesome sights.

Yes , I think it’s better to make a stop in New Brunswick (NB)before reaching Prince-Edward-Island (PEI)

When you go from Quebec to NB , you need to go to Rivière-du-loup, Quebec, then you go on to NB .

          DISTANCES

          Beaupré to Rivière-du-Loup : 150 miles
          Rivière-du-Loup to Fredericton NB : 250 miles
Fredericton NB to Moncton NB : 115 miles
Moncton NB to Charlottetown PEI : 105 miles

          Suggestion

Leave Beaupré around 9 – 9,30 am and reach Rivière-du-Loup at lunch time … stop for lunch . a nice place is L’ESTAMINET , a very cool and affordable restaurant in Rivière-du-Loup.

          Resto Pub L'Estaminet - Accueil

          Then drive to Fredericton ( arrival 6 PM ) or Moncton ( 8 PM ) , stayover
That will get you to PEI the next day .

          IMPORTANT :
A great way to go from Beaupré to Rivière-du-loup ( and cut 80 miles driving ) is to drive east from Beaupré to St-Siméon and take the one-hour ferry to Rivère-du-Loup , but unfortunately the ferry is out-of-service until June 15 th , 2011 ( dock repair in St-Simeon )

Thanks for the info and about ferry being out of service. Had considered the ferry, but now know it isn't possible. We will probably start earlier than your suggestion, but appreciate the times and mileage.

ps. Will probably stor at Fredericton.
