Delta Ditches Expiring Miles - SmarterTravel.com
Prior to this announcement, CO was the only airline which said its miles did not expire (although buried in their T&C was a provision that said they actually could expire - something that apparently was there but not enforced, allowing them to start expiring miles quickly if they chose to change their public policy).
I expect that this announcement with stiffen CO's backbone, and mean that this policy is more likely to be the policy of a merged UA/CO, especially since it is CO's top management that will lead the new airline. Hopefully others will also adopt this policy.
Of course, there are lots of other negatives in DL's program, as alluded to it the article. For them, this change is only putting lipstick on a pig.
