BMI Diamond Club safe for 2011
There has been lots of concern about BMI's Diamond Club ff program being assimilated into Lufthansa's Miles and More (often sarcastically referred to as the more accurate ''Miles and Less'') since Lufthansa acquired controlling interest in BMI last year. That was especially true after Lufthansa last year milejacked BMI members in Israel, Ukraine, and the Netherlands without warning into Miles and Less.
Now BMI has announced that Diamond Club will remain independent of Miles and Less at least for the remainder of 2011.
Since BMI is one of the most generous ff programs, that is great news. For intra-Europe travel, for instance, some city pairs require only 9K miles R/T or 4.5K OW and others 12K miles R/T or 6K OW. With Miles and Less, any of those would be 30K miles.
