Ok, so I am over here now asking another question(s)
After reading the Airline travel FAQ I really was not able to find what I was looking for and maybe it does not exist.
What I am wondering is if anyone knows of a site which shows historic air fare prices? For example, as timeshare owners there historically are some resorts which are better then others, at certain times of the year.
I am looking for historic pricing information on flights from and to certain destinations. For myself, I know that long run, flying from Detroit is better than Toronto 9 times out of 10 because of the reduced taxes. Yapta and I believe even Kayak will give you updates when prices drop, and when they rise after you pick flight departures and destinations.
What I would like to know is say if I want to go to Hawaii, is there a specific time of year when airfares are down?
Yes, I realize there has to be accounting for rise and fall of oil/gas prices etc. This would just give a general starting point. No point in saving money on my accomodations if I pay it on the back end flying. Perhaps this isn't even relative? Booking early from my experience has provided the largest cost savings but is that always the case?
