  • Ebay Timeshare Poof?

I'm new to bidding on stuff on ebay, but was the high bidder for a Grand Pacific resort today. The auction had a couple minutes left and I was still high bidder (at only $297.00) and when I checked back a few minutes later, the item was totally gone. It isn't even showing in my ebay account as something that I was ever bidding on.

Do sellers get a chance to remove their item at auction end? I am sorely disappointed. I had emailed seller a few days ago to ask about a reserve price and was told that there wasn't a reserve. Being new to ebay bidding, I am very confused. Does anyone here have any experience with something similar?

I don't know why it disappeared but it is normal for lots of last second bids to happen.

Thanks, I did eventually get an email last night saying that I didn't win. I guess there was a time delay. Oddly, it still doesn't show in my ebay account that I ever bid on it. Other items show up as not won. My bidding does show on the history, though.

I guess it doesn't matter. I just got really creeped out when it disappeared. Normally, my attitude is, "oh, well, wasn't meant to be." But, I had been yelling at my husband to get champagne ready right before that happened.

If you really want something on ebay you are best off using a program that bids for you at the last minute (second)

Do a search on internet search 'ebay snipe'.

Wow, thanks. I will keep that in mind.

I was so bummed last night, that I actually had thoughts of going to GPPR and seeing how much a new purchase would cost. Luckily, it was a very fast passing thought, or I would be thrown out on the street today.

Three qualities for successful ebay shopping:
                      patience
                      persistence
                      sniping

Decide what you want, then look every day, set up an email alert, and use a sniping program with the highest amount you are willing to pay.
