Car rental companies and deals

I am looking for a rental car for our trip to Sedona/Las Vegas. We will need a rental car for 11 days. The cheapest company I have found is FOX. This is not a brand/company I am familiar with. Anyone have any reviews?

Also any outstanding coupons or deals that I may have missed?

I used Fox only once, in San Fran. Their lot was so far off site we were half way to Napa by the time we got the car. Okay, it only felt that way, but it was way off from the other car companies.

Other than that, I think it was the usually hassel put up by them, gas, insurance, first born, all those other expenses they want to get from you.

I used Fox car rentals in San Diego and there service and choice of vehicles were great. I was also a little leary at first as I had not heard much about them but there was no problem at all. They were also located around the other car rental companies.

In Phoenix Fox is located at the rental car building along with all of the other companies. Having said that, I wasn't impressed the one time I used them. Nothing definite, they just didn't feel very professional. I felt that if I had a problem with a vehicle, they wouldn't have the ability or interest in getting me back on the road.

So the link you gave me was shocking.. but was even worse is EVERY car rental firms pages were just as bad... I guess this is just an industry full of rip off people... I plan on taking pictures of every side of the car before pulling off the lot!!

It is a relative thing when you google Complaints About __________. Some have more (hundreds of thousands of hits) and some have less.

Having done that sorta search frequently, MHO is that for a little-known company, About 885,000 results , is significant.

But that is a way to find out what type of problems others have had.

We used them for Vegas and Utah about 5 years ago and they worked out fine for us. I look at what other write and over the years it seems pretty split on what people think of them. They were a little ways out but not too bad unless you are really in a hurry.

& here's an exchange company that gets a lot of complaints:

I didn't have the same experience in SD. They didn't have the convertible I rented and they were clueless about when or if they would get one if I wanted to come back later in the week and pick one up. It took well over an hour to get out of there, maybe because they had to redo the contracts since they didn't have my car.

We used them in Malaga, Spain, and in Salt Lake City. No problems.
