  • I don't know where to go!

Too many places i've never been...I've booked November '11 in Williamsburg, Febuary '12 in Massanutten, But i still have about 53 TPU's left(26 if i use my week 27 in Williamsburg) and i don't know when or where to use them!

Where would you suggest to a young single father who's never been anywhere?

How about the White Mountains of New Hampshire, Cape Cod or the Maine coast (Acadia National park is one of my favorites).

If you're going with your daughter, I'd suggest Gatlinburg TN with a stop in Nashville.

take a friend (or relative) and go golfing in myrtle beach or hilton head
go rafting in colorado, check out park city during sundance or anytime
go to mexico and spend 1/3 time paring and 2/3 time exploring ruins and history
go diving in the grand caymans

if you haven't been many places, you can start anywhere.

I think thats the problem i'm having Sally...Everytime i see someplace i think, 'oh, i wanna go THERE' till eventually by the end of the day i've decided about a dozen NEW places i want to go...and every day its a new dozen places...

I'm suffering from too many choices...this is one of, if not the worst factor about being a single male....We are so ingrained with women pushing us around and us just saying 'yes dear' that when alone we are unable to make descions on our own

I am having the same problem with our trip to the East coast in September.
I do want you to know i thought of you when I heard the song "Jackson" with Johnney cash and June Carter Cash.

Are you pretty much limiting yourself to the East Coast? If not, there are lots of child friendly great places in the west. If it were me, I'd do a little East Coast, a little West Coast, a little Mexico, etc. I'd see very different parts of the U.S.A./Canada/Mexico.

If you haven't been anywhere then anywhere will be an adventure.

I'd probably start by being opportunistic and taking the steals and deals as they come. I've been very successful with this strategy for years and have been all over the world for some amazing prices.

Depending on HOW far you want to travel you can get some excellent last minute stuff in Spain during shoulder season. Airfare usually isn't a killer and since Spain is actually overbuilt IMHO with TS some can be had for short TPU.

I happen to love going to Arizona, another easy trade and often short TPU in the shoulder season. Like WHO wants to be in Phoeniz in August??? But just a short drive(well not really short about 2 hours) up 17 and you're in Sedona and can see several National Parks using Sedona as a base.

What about the Southern california Coast? Again shoulder season can find some deals.

I don't know where you live, but I am thinking Mid-Atlantic area? What about being a tourist in your own back yard and spending a few days at National harnbor and seeing DC?

Take a map and throw a dart. There are so many places to go. The outer banks is a great place to go with your daughter. I took Kelli there when she was very young and we did all the lighthouses, rode the ferry, Jockey's Ridge, on & on. Just remember wherever you go , even in your own back yard, you will be making memories that will last a life time. shaggy

I bought her a huge wall map, its got to be 6' x 5' tonight we spent a couple hours putting pins in places we'd been (the pocono's, williamsburg and Florida) and talking about the trips...the memories are what makes the trips worth it...i'm hoping to have every state covered with pins before she's too old to want to travel with me anymore

Do you have your passports? if so I would suggest the Canadian Rockies or Glacier Park and Yellowstone if you don't. Real awesome - all the time.

I'll send you a guest invite to a few days at Meadow Lake if you want - (pm me)
