The Redwoods National and State Parks. Lake Tahoe is also a great place.

California has so much to offer that the answers to those questions make a big difference in what we recommend.

It is impossible to recommend any tourist spots without knowing what the OP wants or likes. California is like a country, very diverse with beaches, mountains, desert, great cities, casinos, and tons of attractions. You could spend 6 months here and not see all the attractions.

I have lived and traveled all over California. If you could be more specific as to what you like to do and the time of the year you plan to visit, I could offer some suggestions.
