Grand Tetons
For those of you who have been ...Any particular vantage spots you can recall that I can keep in mind rather than make a stop at every turnout?

Oh, Robert, I am green with envy...you are visiting the GT? We visited them a few years ago and all I can say is that it was breathtaking. We didn't get to spend more than a day touring, as we came through Yellowstone Park, over the mountain, and had to return the same day....but what we did see was so beautiful. I don't think you will have to worry about finding the perfect spot...they all were fantastic for relaxing, viewing, picnics. Have a wonderful trip!

Many years ago, we took a lift up to the top of the mountain with a very steep lift. I believe that it was in Jackson Hole. When you get up the mountain, you will get a treat of a lifetime with the fragrance of all the wildflowers and you can walk a nice nature trail too. We were there in the summer. It was spectacular.
I wonder if that very old lift is still there with the wooden poles and a safety net under your feet? We had two European guests with us who were terrified to go on this very steep lift but right in front of them, they were putting a big black dog on the lift and there he went up the mountain all by himself and made it to the top.
The Tetons are magical and so is the lake and I hope you like to hike.
I tried to find the information for you but it doesn't say if the lift is still on wooden poles.

Signal Mountain offers probably the best panorama in the whole park...and you can drive almost all the way to the top.
The Jenny Lake Scenic Drive is a must. If you have time, hike around the south shore of the lake to the waterfall. In season, you can catch the boat back across the lake to your car.
Schwabacher's Landing. It's a rough little dirt road (but only for about 1 mile) down the hill from the main highway to the edge of the Snake River. This is a popular spot for weddings and for photographers. Truly beautiful.
There are lots of other great vistas in the park...but these would be my top three.

I'm planning and will have to scoot along to cover so many miles.
I know at Grand Canyon one can stop at all pulloffs or if you know, just stop at 3 or 4 and look in wonder longer... And not really miss any of it.RobertComment

WOW, are you guys great or what. Just what I was looking for.
I'm doing so much searching for fear of passing up something. By doing this, I find there's too much. I have to trim some Do and See from our trip.
Now for the campang and lodging places????????????? I see much by seaching, so I need your infor from experience.
Are there more economical places then Jackson Hole?RobertComment
