We went thru YEARS AGO, in the West Gate & out the East. The North Gate was snowed in. Is there something in the North area of the park that we REALLY missed? Old Faithful wasn't. We seen a skinny moose, lots of bubbling mud and groups of tourists looking at such.
What all is there that is REALLY worth spending three days? Has anyone gone fishing in the Park to know where is great and what is required?

We were at Yellowstone on 4th of July weekend about 3-years ago.... The northern area of the park was really neat as the Lamar Valley is up that way and we got to watch Wolves, Black and Grizzly Bears, and HUGE herds of bison. When we left the park to go home we went out the north entrance and even though it was July the snow was like 10-20 feet high on both sides of the road.

Personally, I think the animals are the bigger attraction in the northern and north western parts of the park. Just remember to bring (and buy if necessary) a good spotting scope and tripod plus bring binoculars for everybody.

If my life ever allows it, I would love to spend two full weeks at Yellowstone...

We'll most likely be heading out of there toward Gacier NP about 6 September.

Regarding Yellowstone

I suggest the Mammoth Springs and mineral terraces near Park Headquarters as well worth seeing, and there are interesting features in that visitor center as well.

I hear of Condominiums in Big Sky.

Also there are some at Jackson Hole.

Island Park VIllage, Yellowstone village and I hear Worldmark is building in West Yellowstone
