  • Park At My House

Has anyone used Park at my House dot com

We have an extra driveway spot, live close
to the Airport and plan to check into this..

We have also thought it would be a great (safer) alternative to park at
someones house in their driveway (have them take us to the airport)
instead of simply leaving our vehicle at the airport for an extended stay.

Now, more than ever, there are millions of property owners
(especially retirees) who would love some extra income.

At the same time, parking is as big a nightmare as ever:
whether it's by that busy station or near a sports stadium,
paying over close to the airport, by a sidewalk where it
can be vandalised, or in a high-crime parking garage.

ParkatmyHouse is a match-making service for property owners and drivers.
They manage the whole process seamlessly through their website.

If you’re a driver you can compare a range of
parking spots & book the cheapest & most convenient.

If you're a property owner you can list your spot for rent,
see your bookings and check your earnings.

I would check with an attorney before I tried this. Would you violate zoning laws? Would you have liability issues? Would your homeowners insurance company cancel you?

We parked in a yard years ago near the ferry terminal in Hyannis MA, but it was a simpler world then.

I wouldn't want the responsibility for a stranger's vehicle. Bad enough when I came home to find minor damage to my car when it was parked at my sister's house once.

I can't imagine what would happen if someone "renting" a space at my home came home to a car that was broken in to or stolen forget imaginary dings or scratches.

Wow did not think about the insurance part or zoning. I know many homes that are close to a sports stadium sell there yards to park cars. I have seen it done in at least 6-7 states

I just saw a HUGE ad for this on the outside of the Port Authority, right at the corner of 42nd and Eighth.

My daughter just graduated from law school. Maybe she's rubbing off on me.

Know anybody that wants to hire a very talented, smart young attorney who also has a Master's degree in Environmental Resource Management? (I may not have the title exactly right.) She hopes to work for a non-profit such as a Land Bank or Land Trust. She graduated from law school with honors and passed the Tennessee bar on the first attempt. We're very proud.

Congratulations! That's quite an accomplishment, and her goals laudable.

You might need Liability ins, (easy to Get) as your homeowners at no time covers Cars, Or motorize Vehicles, push or self propel mowers yes, if you have a riding mower you should inform your Homeowners ins. in writing ,they will just keep your note in your file no biggie, example : an outboard boat is covered in your yard, but put the motor on, no coverage, unless you had informed your Insurance Company and if a certain lent they will cover it and may charge you a small endorsement fee
