  • Stopping in DC for a couple hours...Where do we park?

So tomorrow morning we are checking out of Governors green after a GREAT week....But the group i'm with wants to risk it and stop in DC and see some of the sights after check out tomorrow....Every trip i've ever tried to stop in DC to see the sights...i've ended up lost and only been able to park miles and miles from the sites

If you were traveling from Williamsburg to DC for a couple of hours of sight seeing on the way back to NY....Where would be a good place to park? Are there parking garages or anything near the sites that won't be stuffed?

Because it is Sunday, you might luck out and find street parking or parking in a garage. Me, I normally take the subway into town so I don't have to worry about parking. Which sights do you want to see?

Driving into and parking in DC such be ease unless there is a major event going on in the nation capital .

Try to arrive in DC early enough to avoid tourist going into the Capital after 11:00 AM.

The Washington Nationals have a home game tomorrow, but that should not bother you at the tourist attractions.

The couple of times we've elected to park, we've found parking on side streets to the right off the mall near Lincoln Memorial (Rt when facing LM). Great for viewing Vietnam Memorial and others at that end of the Pool. There are restrooms on ground level to the left side of LM.
