  • What time do FF seats load into AA system?

If I'm looking 331 days out, is there a specific time that seats become available online? Is it 12:01 AM Eastern?

No, it's not Eastern, it's Central and they don't necessarily load the seats that day. I found the sometimes they have first class loaded and economy doesn't show up until the next day or so. For the first time ever, I was not able to get FF seats on AA as soon as they were released for a trip next year. Good luck.

Thanks, Pat. Will see how I do. I really want the 50K overnight biz class to Europe so am thinking about just buying one way when I can grab it and then doing economy on the way back - those seem to be more readily available. I've tried many times and failed at the 50K overnight fare. Also afraid that when it finally shows up there will be megacharges since I'm using AA miles for BA flight... tbc...

I am finding it is 6am eastern time....and then again ay 10 pm, the next days date shos up as available but is not really
It is a bit of a crap shoot lately. I am looking at JFK to SYD and they seem to be releasing ONE business class seat, not two...VERY frustrating especially as I will be the one stuck in coach!

edit - BTW, AA is down for maint today until 6/2 at 4am...so if u need something, call.

I had better luck with UA in getting FF tickets to France. Those BA taxes are a killer. Not worth it IMHO.

What is a killer on BA is not really taxes, although they dishonestly put it on the tax line; it is YQ or fuel surcharge. If I am using miles, I always look for flights on AA metal for TATL legs or one of the other AA partners. Air Berlin through Dusseldorf is one option.

Ugh, so our miles are just AA and it looks like the overnight non-stops from JFK are all through BA.

You can go to australia on Quantas and pay $27 pp one way in tax.
                  BA fees are ridiculous!

Don't you have to call AA to book Australia?
I thought they have to book it thru Qantas for you?
Can you do it online now?

Where are you going? AA partners with Aer Lingus. Can you connect thru Shannon/Dublin? Just realized you were looking for non-stops. I know most people prefer them but I don't care.

You can now do it online - much easier then when I booked 2 years ago.

Aer Lingus is not longer with One World - I am not sure what alliance they are with now.

                          Good to know.
Not that I'm going to Australia anytime soon.

The new European partner that AA picked up recently was Air Berlin, whose hubs include Dusseldorf and Berlin and does not add YQ to ff tickets. Others include Finnair, which does not pop you on YQ.
