The world's first airline to charge people according to their weight, is set to introduce an 'XL class' to cater for bigger passengers. The airline has accepted that traditional seats are uncomfortable for the XL passenger and is modifying its aircraft to cater for people who weigh more than 130 kilograms (286 lb). Rows will be extended by 12 - 14 inches (30 - 35 centimentres).
The Samoa Air "pay by weight" policy has been accepted by customers and has proved successful apparently. Next consideration will be the taller passenger perhaps.
