We are going to pick up our daughter from camp in Missouri this Saturday. Our flight was originally supposed to leave Newark early in the morning and arrive about 9 a.m. Central time. A couple of months ago, United changed the time and pushed the flight later, so that now we were arriving after 10 a.m. We were disappointed that we would not be able to drive out to the camp (two hours from St. Louis) in time to get her, but we made other arrangements.
Today my daughter emailed me and said she was looking forward to showing us around the camp. I felt bad (and I want to see the camp!) and so I called United. The phone clerk, Toni, saw that the flight times had been moved--and she was able to put us on flights on Friday!
We're so happy. Now we can get out to the camp in plenty of time to see our daughter, meet her friends and counselors, and have lunch together before we set off for sightseeing.
I've had so many challenging experiences with United over the years, but this time they really helped us out. Thanks, United!
