Will the Affordable Care Act affect the health care portion of travel insurance?

Who knows. With the Obamacare FUBAR rollout, there are too many questions about the basics but my guess that since it is travel insurance and not health insurance in a strict sense, I doubt it will have any effect.

I doubt that it will have a direct effect. But, since most travel insurance policies provide that they are secondary insurance, if the policy you have under the ACA covers your injury in full, then your travel insurance probably won't pay anything.

I wonder how that works with out of country vacations. Im not sure my current group health policy covers me out of country. Even in Canada or Mexico where Im likely to show up. I buy the worldmark travel insurance yearly but its only good while staying at a worldmark or worldmark exchange.
