The convention center is right in the middle of Center City/downtown. There are parking garages all around it for various amounts of arms and legs per hour. The convention center web site has a long list including rates. Depending on where you are staying you might want to consider taking the train to Reading terminal and walking a couple of blocks. If you go for parking on the street be aware that some streets become tow away zones during rush hour. I think Arch and Race may be that way, both of them are close to the PACC.
If you want a good Cheese steak go to Jim's (might be a long wait but best meat) or http://philacheesesteak.com/ which is a whole in the wall and down the block from Jim's. IMO these 2 are the best but if you rather long lines and the most popular go to Geno's and Pattsy
The best cheesesteaks are south of the city in Delaware County. There is a small town called Parkside that had two of the best across the street from each other when I was living in PA. Can't vouch for them now but Phil and Jim's and La Spadas in Parkside were the best around in the 80's.
