Air Travel over Christmas/New Years 2014

Do the ticket prices look a lot higher this year than the previous couple of years? In the past we have driven for our Christmas holiday, but looking at flying and the ticket prices to the Caribbean Islands and Hawaiian Islands seem high. Are they in your opinion?

I don't think its just the holidays. Air fares are up for both trips we are taking this year. I attribute it to fewer flights, so fuller flights and higher costs.
