  • A new low cost airline for TATL flights?

We may see a new fare war on trans-Atlantic (TATL) travel, as one of Europe's low cost carriers, Norwegian, seeks approval for a new subsidiary to fly TATL, with fares starting at $150 each way.

US DOT officials seem to be resisting.

Cheaper flights from the US to Europe would be terrific! Hopefully, they'll get approved, and others will follow suit.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

That would be great and would help out since the dollar is weaker than the pound and euro makes the travel to Europe gives it slightly more reason to go. To bad it takes so long to travel RT. Can you imagine a weekend trip there? Think about it, wake up to a cup of espresso in Venice. French pastry's in Paris, Hookers in Amsterdam

I used to do long weekend trips to London from North Carolina all the time. For a number of years, DL had a special fare of $299 including tax for long weekend R/T flights from Raleigh to London. You could leave as early as Thurday and return as late as Tuesday. These fares were generally availible from mid-October to sometime in the Spring, and one year to as late as the first week in June.

That's a great deal. Wish they had that here in Miami.
I did get a $305 fare once on AA when SwissAir started flying to MIA.
The $305 was a marketing gimmick for our area code 305.
AA matched the deal and I went to Switzerland/Italy for $305 and got the FF points too.
