  • Best options to get from MSY to hotel near Superdome and French Quarter

Conference in New Orleans next week. Staying at a hotel about halfway between the Superdome and the French Quarter.

Wondering about the best transportation option to get to the hotel. Considering Uber - quoted rate is $33. Any other ideas from the experienced traveler's out there?

We always just take a cab, plentiful outside the airport and we've always had friendly service, but I'm sure Uber is fine, too. I don't remember the cab cost but it's not likely that far off. Here's a fare finder website, ymmv. https://www.taxifarefinder.com/main....+Airport+(MSY)

I have a private driver for RT that picks me up in either a Limo r a Suburban. I also use him all week in case I need a ride. He comes out to about the same as the cabs but way nicer. Let me know if yu want his # and I will call ahead so he knows to take care of you

We took a shuttle bus to the hotel that we just got at the airport, no previous reservations. We booked them and pre-paid for the return trip. Afterwards, we found out that a cab came out to the same amount as 2 shuttle fares.

My son graduated from Tulane 3 years ago. At the time, Uber was not well known (if it actually existed) and cab fare from MSY to Tulane was around $40. It seems that now Uber is cheaper than a cab. However, if you are alone and if you do not mind multiple stops, the shuttle is an cheaper option (under $20/pp).

Ended up taking the airport shuttle. Cost is $22 each way.
