Very unhappy after 40 years with American Airlines, I have never had an Issue with AA FF mileage. I did one of the surveys back in June/July to update my and my wife's miles. The miles all posted on my account for both, My wife's never updated. My wifes expired On Dec 30 and AA just charged me $150 to get them back. I feel so ripped off it is not funny. It was there glitch and I had to pay for it. The account should have updated back in July.

American Airlines, Worst CS on AA.com ever

AA took us out of about 110000 air miles. We didn't even know they were gone until we went to book a trip. These expired after 18 months unlike my Alaska miles which seem to last forever. It was my own fault as I didn't read the entire AA program dealio .
I do like AA but decided to use Alaska and trade in to AA when needed.

Since they were taken over by US Airways, they have gone way downhill. The mergers have destroyed real competition and with it any concern for customer service. That is true of all three major oligopoly airlines in the US.
Now their main European partner, British Airways, is discontinuing free food and beverages. Might as well fly EasyJet or RyanAir
I have been a mid-tier elite in the FF programs of five of the old big six US airlines, and an lower tier elite on the sixth. Now, with the destruction of the FF programs after the mergers, I don't give a crap about loyalty any more. I fly price, and for TATL flights, I try to book European carriers.
