What a remarkable medical procedure.
Thank you all for your good wishes.

Amazing! Glad hubby is making such great progress; although he does have an outstanding nurse to care for him!

Great, thanks. Mike had his first post op check up and the new valve is not leaking. He is up and around and one week after the surgery was cleared to drive and take walks. On the 18th he goes back for an extensive eval - echo, CT scan, labwork, and surgeon follow up. I think because he is in the clinical trial his follow up will be more detailed than "regular" patients.

Great news! You're right, he would be followed closely while participating in a clinical trial...Peter had that experience too...it's a good thing, I think. You talk about Mike...how are you? Can you think about re-planning that trip to NOLA?

Thanks for asking. I’m okay. I’m glad it’s behind us now. I’m tied to the school schedule so I’m not sure when we will reschedule New Orleans but I’ve been there before. This summer we will be going to Chicago to catch a couple of baseball games and to do the tourist thing. I’ve never been there.

We will be there 8/8 to 8/11. Will you be there at that time?
